I’m not gonna lie, when I heard Beyonce track I wasn’t really feeling it, until I saw the video, then that was it for me, “it’s stuck in my head now.

Here are the women who “Run My World”. When I say run my world, what I mean is women who have been a big inspiration in my life. Each one of these women have helped me to grow into the person that I am now, each one of them helped me with my life journey and I still continue to grow and succeed.

Iyanla Vanzant,Spiritual teacher, author, and television personality Iyanla Vanzant has been a big impact in my life. I remember while study in fashion at “London College of Fashion”, going through a lot of madness with my mother and boyfriend. My boyfriend at that time was giving me the stress introduced me to this book called” In The Meantime”. At first I thought this guy was “taking the piss out of me” then when I started to read it. Reading wasn’t my thing, it was hard to adjust and get into it, it was new to me. I thank him for introducing me to this book, after reading a few chapters he got “kicked to the curb” and it helped me to deal with some of my everyday life struggles. What I love about Iyanla is that she’s been through a lot of struggles and managed to become a successful spiritual healer for “Women of colour”, whilst writing her books she even lost her beloved daughter to cancer, but she learnt that she has to still go on for her other children. I love this woman from my heart and hope that one day I’ll meet her.   If you haven’t got her book, get “Until Today”. Mary J Blige, I grew up listening to her music from the “Real Love” days. I remember trying to dress like her and sing like her. Coming from similar background and struggles like her, I felt like Mary was talking to me with her songs, telling me to be strong and keep it moving in my life. I love the way that she express what  she’s going through with her songs. She helped me through a lot of my situations and helped me to express what I was going through with creating clothes, now styling individuals. Mary is all grown up, successful and married, that’s my “Next Step in my life”.  “Mary Run you My World”

Anita Baker, has been a big inspiration, as a young teenager my friend’s older brother introduce me to the world of Anita Baker’s music. Her sweet voice that used to make me sometimes cry with the pain and happiness. Her music talks to you, in most of her songs I can relate because it’s been what ive been through. I remember her song “Fairy Tales” I love that song because it tells you about being a young child and your mother reading a  fairy tale book to you about being a Princess and eventually getting that prince. Growing up as a little girl thinking that was the truth until you enter the real world. Anita is my best singer ever and I love this women that’s why she “Run’s My World”.  I remember when I introduce two of my male friends that I used to hang out with at 15 and they both died from separate occasions but her music keeps me with their spirit. “Anita you Run My World”

Author, speaker,teacher, minister Joyce Meyer Is the women who helped me to start finding the “higher being”. I remember flicking through the  channel and sitting down watching this lady talking  about the word of GOD. I thought to myself who is this women, I felt the way she was saying the “WORD” this women wasn’t only real she had something special about her. For someone like me who came from the “Streets” and a crazy background who would have never go to church or listen to a speaker, she helped me to start a new leaf in my life.
